A close-up of the West Riding CC milestone on the B1224 just west of the lane to Bilton. The stone had been painted grey over white, now peeling, but when set up it would have been left bare. On the 1893/94 contract for the setting up of these milestones the original specification for the paint on the metal was blue with white letters. It is thought this was soon changed to black letters on white. In need of repainting. Grade II listed 1150363.
