Ryknild Street near Lichfield

Ryknild Street (or sometimes Icknield Street) is mapped as a Roman Road across the English Midlands. Certainly that is the most well-preserved section, which is reflected in many modern roads and lanes that follow the classic Roman straight-line approach. It's commonly believed to run from Gloucester to Sheffield, but some authorities reckon it may have connected St Davids in Pembrokeshire to the mouth of the Tyne.
