Open land to the southeast of Cricket Lane

Cricket Lane takes the line of Ryknild Street through this part of Lichfield, a Roman road from Gloucester to Sheffield, although some authorities suggest it ran from St Davids in Pembrokeshire all the way to Tynemouth. At this point, it had not long left the fortified town of Letocetum (now known as Wall) just SW of Lichfield.
