This family of life-size bronze elephants can be found in and around Spitalfields Market. Each of the 20 baby elephant sculptures represents a real-life orphaned elephant, rescued and raised by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. Leading the herd is the matriarch, symbolic of the mother and family that each of the baby elephants lost when they became orphaned. In the distance is the magnificent Christ Church, Spitalfields, built between 1714 and 1729 to a design by Nicholas Hawksmoor - see www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7901658
