This is one of several extraction pits that have been converted into lakes on the business park. Davies Turner http://www.daviesturner.com/ are a freight handling company, one of several on the park that make use of the nearby Freightliner terminal and the proximity of the M25 Motorway (or the A282 Dartford Crossing to be pedantic!) A glance at the OS 1940s map shows this whole area to be known as Stone Marshes, bisected by a number of drains, with no hint of the future business park or the river crossing.
