Looking toward the Church of St Mary Magdalene which is visible on the left of picture. Also partially visible to the left of the church is the cone-shaped roof of the town library built by renowned Victorian architect Watson Fothergill. Several examples of his ornate buildings still stand in the Nottingham area.
