This colourful street scene, on Eastbourne's Grand Parade, shows spectators watching the Platinum Jubilee themed Carnival of 2022. A huddle of spectators can be seen clustered together by Harry Ramsden’s near the junction of Grand Parade and Terminus Road as they watch the procession proceed towards Princes Park. There were many indexical symbols and signs of the Platinum Jubilee themed carnival including a Union Jack flag on Terminus Road and also in also numerous other places. Many flags, including the St Andrew’s Cross and flags of Commonwealth countries, were also on show. Additionally, there was red, white and blue bunting, heraldic banners with coats of arms, a banner with an image of Her Majesty The Queen and a float in the style of a crown.
