A possible future route for National Cycle Network Route 1. From the east NCN1 arrives at Brunstane using the course of the old railway, it is then diverted through the local housing estate. It is possible to continue along the pictured path, a steep slope and a narrow path through undergrowth eventually leads out onto Brunstane Road South at approximately NT314725.
