This symbolic grave monument is on the south wall of the church. Two winged souls, emblems of immortality, are at the top edges, while a trumpet-playing cherub, flanked by two skulls, is at the top centre. Other symbols of mortality are bones and hourglasses. At the foot of the monument is a symbolic scene from the bible, the Sower and the Reaper with the Reaper signifying death. Although some parts are illegible, the inscription reads: HERE LYES DAVID PRINGLE FARMER IN TEMPLEHALL WHO DIED OCTOBER 18 1735 AGED 65 YEARS. LILLIE PRINGLE HIS SPOUSE DIED FEBR 15 1742 AGED 55 YEARS. ROBERT PRINGLE THEIR SON DIED APRIL 2 1699 AGED 6 MONTH JOHN PRINGLE DIED ………………… AGED …… YEARS. JEAN PRINGLE DIED JULY ………… AGED 24 YEARS.
