A terrace of a couple of dozen houses, built in the latter part of the 19th century around 1875 to house workers in the tweed weaving mills of Newtown; they appear on the 1:2500 map published in 1884. They once backed onto the Newtown branch of the Shropshire Union Canal, which ran pretty much at the end of the back gardens.
