Contributor Chris Heaton described this as one of the most creepy buildings he'd ever seen, but that was several years ago when the cottage was in a semi ruinous state. Certainly the isolated site almost surrounded by trees and in the middle of a field with no access other than on foot, combined with the name of 'Witch of the Woods House' gives the impression that there could be something rather creepy about the place. Now the cottage has been repaired and there's a gate with the usual warning for trespassers, but if you came this way on a misty November night when owls are screeching and bats are flying, it might still feel rather spooky.
