Numbers 4 and 6 High Street were built as a house and forge, now 2 dwellings. Originally built in the 17th century with additions and alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building was restored in the 20th century. Constructed of coursed limestone and lias under a Collyweston stone slate roof. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1225357 Easton on the Hill is a village in the eastern tip of north Northamptonshire, some 2 miles southwest of Stamford. The village name means 'east farm/settlement' on the hill. Most working residents travel to Stamford or Peterborough.
