The Old School, number 10 Main Street, was built in 1834. Constructed of coursed rubble stone under a hipped Collyweston stone slate roof. The inscribed panel reads 'Schoolroom built by subscription aided by the National and County Societies'. Listed, for group value, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1073787 Tinwell is a small commuter village on the eastern border of the county of Rutland, some 1½ miles west of Stamford. Most working residents travel to Stamford or Peterborough.
