Ilsham valley from Lincombe Drive

The valley, which cuts off Ilsham Marine Drive and the Hope's Nose headland from the rest of Torquay, has been eroded along a faultline. High class housing has been built along its sides; sizeable houses on the right, opposite the recreation area on the valley floor. The cul-de-sac at upper right, Bishop's Close, crosses into SX9463, while the wooded Black Head, to the left of the central sea view, is in SX9464. In the foreground are the wooded Lincombe Slopes, which only allow occasional glimpses of the view, although the council intends to thin them and improve the path network.
