Detail of the south west corner of the Derwentwater Hotel. There is an Ordnance Survey cut benchmark on one of the painted stone quoins adjacent to the fire hydrant marker (detail photograph Image). The Cumbria Way long distance trail from Ulverston to Carlisle follows the road beside the hotel, passing the benchmark.
