The Bothy dates from the early 1840s. It was originally built as a boiler-house and gardeners’ dormitory. It is a Grade II listed building (List Entry 1440260 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1440260?section=official-list-entry Historic England).
