Looking across a sunken track, hardly visible, which is now bridleway 1544. On the other side were the grounds of Woldhurstlee or Woldhurstlea, a large house which was demolished with the coming of the New Town. Its site and immediate surrounds are now the residential Woldhurstlea Close.
