This is the view eastwards from the library garden towards the historic centre of Birmingham. It is dominated by the tallest building in the city, the 152m BT Tower, and, above the Copthorne Hotel, the tallest office building, the 108m block known by its address, 103 Colmore Row. This block was completed in 2021 to designs by the firm of Doone Silver Kerr. It replaced the 1970s NatWest Tower by the controversial local architect John Madin, known for his uncompromisingly brutalist style; see Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/103_Colmore_Row . In the foreground, to the right, can be seen the roof of Baskerville House; beyond and behind the Copthorne Hotel part of the City Museum & Art Gallery with its dome and grand classical front is visible. The dome and the roof of the clock tower of the Council House can be seen at the right hand side of the photo above what appears to be a multistorey car park.
