This particular book exchange is outside a theatre. One contributor describes the building as formerly a nonconformist church Image; the 1921 map labels it 'mission hall'. The datestone of 1860 Image includes a sculpture of Jesus welcoming children which suggests possibly a Sunday School as its original use, and a discussion on the 'Secret Leeds' forum agrees with this.
