Showing the London end of the station frontage. The station was situated on a line owned and operated jointly by the Great Western and Great Central Railways, and by their successors well into the days of nationalisation, with the former building the stations and the latter providing some of the rolling stock. Hence the GWR style of architecture seen in this image.
