Crossrail, a scheme linking the railway networks to the east and west of London with a tunnel passing between Liverpool Street and Paddington, has the potential to transform public transport in London. The hugely complex project has had well publicised problems but will finally be opened in 2022. It is named the Elizabeth Line and Transport for London has adopted a purple colour for it - which is not used for any of its other services. This roundel appears by the new entrance at the side of Paddington station.
