The Almonry was part of Evesham Abbey, built in the 14th century to house the almoner, a monk who would minister to the poor and sick of the parish. Since 1957 it has been the town museum, an atmospheric space with an eclectic collection of artefacts telling the story of the town through the centuries. It is quite a treasure trove although visitors do need to beware of uneven floors and steps.
