On the south side of York Road just inside the Market Weighton by-pass is this heavily disguised 3 step mounting block style milestone. It is on the 22½ mile Beverley and Kexby Bridge (River Derwent) tollroad operating from 1764 to 1881. These stones originally had the legends inscribed and later plates were added to some of the stones along this route. This stone is very worn so no inscription can be made out but the holes where a plate was added can be seen.
