Numerous sites for repair or maintenance have been identified in chalk. The footbridge in the case is seen in Image It connects Marston Road and Sheffield Road with Green Lanes B73 over the north end of Chester Road station on the Sutton Coldfield line. For the able-bodied at least, the footbridge replaces the pedestrian route at ground level that was severed by the railway.
