Taken from just below the carpark, at the top of South Military Road, the view showed three P&O ferries (the Pride of Canterbury, the Pride of Kent and the Spirit of Britain) moored alongside the Admiralty Pier, after their crews had been sacked by the company. The new marina, which had been constructed as part of the Western Docks Revival Plan, was almost devoid of the hoped for boats.
