This name must be of some antiquity - you certainly could not use that as a name on a new pub. According to the owners. Joseph Holt, it dates back to 1745. They only bought it in 2021 and have extensively renovated it. There was once a pub called the Upper Turks Head, a little further along Shudehill, now lost.
