Very welcome in this area where few, if any, properties are less than £2M. Electrically controlled front gates and driveway intercoms are the norm. After the Great War, this part of rural Cheshire saw an influx of wealthy businessmen from the Manchester suburbs, aided by the railway into Altrincham, where large villas were developed between the villages of Hale and Hale Barns. Now, in the 21st century, a new generation has arrived, buying and redeveloping a proportion of the older properties, with state-of-the-art modern mansions.
