This is the main block, designed by James Matthews and built in 1861-1863, plus later additions and alterations. It is part of a group of Category B Listed buildings. See http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB20084 for details. Mercifully, none of the additions in this view are recent enough to be glaringly incompatible with, or to detract from, the original buildings.
