Although manifestly on The Batch, it addresses itself as Leg Lane. Its website declares that the pub in a 17th century building has been 'Serving the local community for over 200 years...' For about 15 years the pub has organised the 'Plume of Feathers Duck Race', a charity fun evening and tradition set up by the Blagdon gun club about 30 years ago. In directories I only find; 1889 J Tregellas Beer Retailer (RSO); 1842-1852 can't find Rickford in the listings; 1897-1902 George Payne Beer Retailer (RSO in 1897); 1914 Alfred Guy Mould Beer Retailer and brewer; 1919 F Keel Beer Retailer; RSO indicates a post office 'Railway Sub Office'. I can only assume because of the small size of the village that the beer retailers are in an early ale house that became the Plume of Feathers or may indeed have been called that from the start.
