The oldest house in Haddington and now in community use, it was built in 1689 in the style of a 17thC Scottish Laird's mansion. Beside it a 17th century period garden was created featuring plants native to Scotland. This garden is known as St Mary's Pleasance and is maintained by Haddington Garden Trust SCIO a charity. It stands near St Mary's Church.
