Two bridges cross a path linking St John's Mount with Balne Lane Fields. The nearer one carries the Leeds-Doncaster main line, the further a single track freight siding, although it once carried three tracks that branched into many more sidings at the junction with the Great Northern's branch line to Dewsbury.
