War Department Boundary Marker incorporated semi-sunken in railings on the south side of St Oswald Street, Lancaster. Formerly inscribed W ↑ D / No 8 but has been effaced. It marked the boundary of the former Bowerham Barracks (King's Own Royal Regiment, c.1873 to 1959), now a campus of the University of Cumbria. Milestone Society National ID: LA_WDLANC08em
