BR 9F 2-10-0 No. 92212 waits at Medstead & Four Marks Station with a train bound for Alresford. The 9F's were the last class of steam locomotives built by British Railways. This example was one of the last batch built at Swindon in 1959. The engines were intended for heavy freight work, but seemed equally at home on express passenger trains and were probably the best of the BR 'Standard' designs.
