Highbury Hall was built for successful businessman and politician Joseph Chamberlain. He was born in Camberwell in London and grew up in the Highbury area of the city. Aged 18, he moved to Birmingham and joined his uncle's screw-business, Nettlefolds of Birmingham. He became a partner and the company became known as Nettlefold and Chamberlain. He was three times Mayor of Birmingham and held senior office in national government. Highbury Hall was built in 1878 by John Chamberlain (no relation). The house is Grade II* listed, see: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1076076?section=official-list-entry
