According to the panel outside: The Carswell Centre was formerly the Carswell United Presbyterian Church built in 1867 by William Carswell, a prominent Eaglesham clergyman. It was later united with the Free Church (now the nearby Laird Halls) and in 1960 with the Parish Church. Extensive re-configuration and refurbishment in 2016-17 transformed the building into a community-oriented church facility.
