Formerly known as "The Clopton Asylum" this building was originally Almshouses, built c.1744 under the will of Dr Poley Clopton (d.1730). From c.1890 it became the Vicarage of St James' Church It is now divided between The Provost's House and No.4 Churchyard, the latter known as "Clopton Cottage".
