One of the community hats on the Hats Off To Denton Sculpture Trail in the window of Buttercups & Daisies florist on Manchester Road. Inspired by the vibrant and energetic young dancers at Gibsons Dance Academy, Bloomin' Wonderful is a nod to Alice in Wonderland. The children at Gibsons loved the flowers, patterns, colours and clocks in the story, which all feature as part of the design. This hat reflects a sense of adventure, the beauty of flowers and a bit of mystery, but most importantly the radiance and energy of the wonderful children at the academy. Gibsons Dance Academy has over 10 years of experience offering dance classes for children and adults of all ages in Denton. Each student at Gibsons Dance Academy is valued as an individual and encouraged to achieve their highest potential, with the aim of having fun, making friends and lifelong memories, whilst learning to dance and become a performer. The design is by Venessa Scott, a prolific public artist whose vibrant and joyful pattern based murals can be seen across the UK. Venessa also designed and painted one of the UK's tallest murals. When she is not adding colour to the walls of cities you can also find Venessa presenting art content for children on CBBC.
