Climbing up on the Maybole By-Pass

Although the contractors have smoothed out the gradient on this stretch, a climbing lane allows lighter traffic to overtake the lorries. Maybole is a much safer and more pleasant place now that this sort of traffic no longer has to file its way through the town centre. Image shows what McQuiston’s Corner was like in 2019.
