The viaduct carries the A650 Trunk Road over the River Aire at the eastern end of the Bypass, which was opened in December 2003. Designed by Arup Consulting Engineers for the Highways Agency, the viaduct deck is of the steel ladder-frame construction, similar to the Hunslet Viaduct Image in Leeds.
