Streatlam Park

Streatlam Park is the former estate surrounding Streatlam Castle, a stately home of the Bowes-Lyon family, Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorn. The estate was deemed surplus (the main family estate being Glamis), and was sold off to private buyers in the early C20th, with the house stripped and left as a shell. the house was finally destroyed by the TA in a training exercise in 1959. The estate lands remain in private hands and have been host to equestrian events.
