Detail of the Ordnance Survey cut benchmark on the limestone wall pillar on Springfield Road near the entrance to Springfield Avenue. The benchmark, of which only the datum line remains, marks a height of 40.0401m above mean sea level (Ordnance Datum Newlyn) last levelled and verified in 1968 (location photograph Image).
