This photo shows VAE 499T a Leyland National bus 10.3m (34ft) in length with 44-seater bodywork dating from 1978. The Leyland National was an integrally-constructed bus that was produced in large quantities between 1972 and 1985. It was developed as a joint project between the National Bus Company and British Leyland. This vehicle was allocated to the former Bath depot in London Road, Kensington (ST7565), the BH code appearing on the bus by its fleet number 700.
