Located alongside the B4233 in rural Monmouthshire. The information board on the left records that the trough was built c1883 for Joseph Bradney who commissioned the architect F.R. Kempson to design and build a new mansion, associated buildings, the gate piers and wall and this trough. The trough which provided drinking water for animals was an ornate feature opposite the entrance gates to the mansion.
