The east front of the house. Godinton House and gardens is a small country estate some 2 miles northwest of Ashford. The house is built around a 14th century great hall with alterations and additions in the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The house has a Jacobean exterior in brick with Dutch gables. Listed, grade I, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1071511 The 900 acre estate includes some fine formal gardens, and is on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, grade II*, with much history and detail at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1000151
