This memorial is situated close to the fountain in Dalmuir Park. ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION TO THE MEMORY OF ROBERT CURRIE Aged 18 years NEAR THIS SPOT IN THE HEROIC BUT UNSUCCESSFUL EFFORT TO SAVE THE INFANT CHILD CHARLES FRYER ON THE 15TH MAY 1907 HE WAS KILLED BY AN EXPRESS TRAIN AT THE LEVEL CROSSING REPLACED 1982 BY PUBLIC FUND RAISED BY PROVOST JIM MCKENDRICK J.P.
