Huge claggy fields to cross here, the result of intensive farming over the last few decades. All the hedges have been cleared in the name of efficiency and economy. Farmers have had to do this to survive, but at the cost of nature and diversity. Unfortunately this intensive way of farming cannot carry on indefinitely- the climate crisis clock is ticking.
