Old Somerton Wireless Station

The 1949 edition of the OS maps show this as a wireless station with a number of masts extending north from the buildings on Black's Moor Hill to Perry Hill. The last use for radio was in 2000. The station was built in 1927 as part of the Marconi Shortwave Beam system, and operated as a receiving station paired with the transmitting station at Dorchester.
