This is the most northerly of the West Riding CC milestones dating from 1893/94 on the route from Doncaster to Tadcaster. It is near a car-park entrance just south of the traffic lights at the A659 junction in Tadcaster. It is Grade II listed 1301027. Northwards, on the 11 miles from Brotherton, only one milestone is completely missing. This would have been one mile to the south of this one by the wall surrounding Grimston Grange.
