Situated beside Station Road, and taken from perhaps the most commanding view of the Hotel that is currently available: beside the fuel pumps at Station Road petrol station. The hotel is still closed, ever since 2018, but has received noticeable repair work. Some parts of the roof have been repaired, the chimneys repointed, the portico stabilised and repainted, and the plants growing in the brickwork removed. Nevertheless, little intention for actually reinstating the building's habitation has been expressed. About a year ago, it was reported that the hotel was no longer being heated, due to criminals stealing the pipes for the heating system. Whether that is still the case is wholly unclear. The site has recently been added to Historic England's "Heritage at Risk" register, categorising its condition as "poor" and its priority as "C - Slow decay".
