The King's House, number 46 Strand Street, is a 15th century building. Timber framed partly encased or rebuilt in brick, all under a tile roof. Some early internal panelling, staircase, roof and plaster ceilings remain. The house is reputed to have hosted King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I.
